The History of Britz Store Equipment & Food Equipment SuperStore
Britz Store Equipment came to be after a devastating fire that destroyed our family’s grocery store in December of 1978. Being underinsured, our founder Herb Britz could only rebuild with used equipment. He started buying used equipment to outfit the new building, and when it was complete had some excess equipment to sell.

A neighboring community butcher shop came and talked to Herb about his new store and how he outfitted it with equipment. After the conversation, he asked Herb if he would be willing to go out and purchase equipment to set up a new butcher shop location. Herb agreed, and Britz Store Equipment was formed as a part time gig. Herb’s son John joined him in 1981, and his other son Wayne came on board in 1989. Britz Store Equipment grew under this family-run team, specializing in Remanufactured Supermarket Refrigeration Equipment for decades, and later expanded into all facets of the food service industry.

In 2015 we joined Strata GPO (formerly known as the Excell Buying Group), which gives us the ability to offer a full-line of new food service equipment at competitive prices. The formation of "Food Equipment SuperStore" is the next chapter in the Britz legacy. The family’s third generation is moving to a new retail store, where customers can come in, browse, and shop for all their Food Equipment and Supply needs.

John Britz
Owner, President
John has been in the refrigeration/food equipment industry for 44 years. He is excited for this new adventure and getting his son in law involved so he can enjoy a little more time at his cabin and flying his airplane. John is a family man who is loving being a grandpa to his two grandbabies.
Justin Cummins
Owner, Treasurer
Justin is fairly new to the industry with just 2 years under his belt, but he is eager to learn the trait and carry on the family business. Justin is a new father who loves enjoying time with his family and getting in some upcoming baseball games.
Hannah Frank
Office Manager
Hannah has been working alongside John since 2016 coordinating the front office and is excited to help this new adventure bloom. She loves spending time with her family and anything that gets her outdoors.
